I bought a brand new single rect 50 a few weeks ago from Mesa Hollywood. I am boosting it with a TS9.
I usually play for two hours at a time and the amp would go from sounding ok to sounding fizzy while on chan 2 after playing a little while and then within 10 minutes or so-the amp would sound ok again. Last week the amp went from sounding ok to sounding increadible and sounded like this every time I played it for the past week- from start to finish. (I want to add that I never turned a single knob after I first dialed in the tone I wanted the first day).

Now the amp has this fizz sound back again and it sounds that way the entire time I play it. Do you think this is a tube issue? (Perhaps a tube was damaged in shipping or just went bad?) I replaced V1 but it didn't solve the problem. I guess I will try V2 tomorrow and keep going?

Any ideas/help would be appreciated- Thanks in advance.

I think I'd start by calling Mesa to see what they have to say about the issue. If it's new you could have it looked at by a tech under the 5 year warranty. I've never heard of a bad tube(s) doing what you are describing though. Again, call Mesa and see what they have to say before taking matters into your own hands.

Fizzy I dont know, but before I got my furman, the current variation affected the sound more then I think it could be possible! A stable current to your gear is an important aspect to keep yor sound always the same!
