I have a series 1 rectoverb 50 head i recently bought and i have some noise problems, its evident on all channels at higher volumes even with the gain at half. The real weird thing is that on the rythym channel with nothing plugged in when i touch the treble or the gain knob i get bzzz more of a buzzing noise only on the rythym channel though, wtf is that all about? And if i plug the cable back into the input and touch the treble or gain theres no buzzing, but still an evident hum in the background, what could cause that?
How would i check the if the ground loop is bad?
Another question where i plug the amps power cord into the amp it is loose could that have anything to do with it, and how could i fix the loose jack on the back of the amp?
And how much hum is acceptable for this amp i know most reviews ive read say its fairly quiet and i cant remeber what the used series 1 at gc i played awhile back sounded like.
Thank you

How would a noise suppressor work with my rectoverb? I was looking at either a boss ns-2 or a isp decimator, to try to get rid of my amps hum. I heard that it wont work right in the effects loop since its parallel, and ive also heard that it will.
Any ideas how to set it up?
If the mix control is at 100% does the loop act as a serial loop would, my buddy said that it would.
Thanks

Well could someone give me some feedback to how much noise there should be on this amp i dont want to take it to a tech if i dont have to.
What are some things that could cause noise could tubes be the problem?
Im just trying to figure out if its normal or not?

Well i figured it out, i have a dehumidifier running in my basement directly under the room i play in probly connected to the same wiring and what not because i unplugged the dehumidifier and my noise was cut in half, ive heard of appliances with motors in it could cause major interference with amps never experienced it before though.
Well thanks anyways

I had a similar problem, except it was with the lights in my house, because they were dimming lights. For like a month I had no idea until i played in the dark and the buzz went away. It only happened when the lights were dimmed, when they were off or on fully, it was normal.
Damn amps
