Think it's a good match? My stock tubes are pretty worn out so I'm hoping to swap them out soon (a solid quad of Mesa yellow STR440s)

I definitely loved the SEDs in my Roadster when I had it. I also love them in my Rectoverb. I just got a pair last week and played with it this weekend. I love em! The clean is a bit crisper and the distortion is tighter, more complex, thicker, and it feels like there's a bit more gain. They really add a dimension to the tone as well. They are great!

The current production SED/Svetlana powertubes are wonderful. I have no first hand experience in the Roadster, but in the two Mark IVs that I had, they were spectacular. Rich harmonic response and balanced lows and highs.

Sounds good, bro...I think I'll get myself a quartet and through 'em in the RS and see what happens. I'm looking for 'cripsier' cleans as it is since switching from using the EMG 60 in my ESP for cleans to the PRS pickups in my Custom... Don't get me wrong, in the middle (split) positions the clean are excellent but I want to ratchet up the neck pickup cleans a bit.

That and tighten up the dist. :D As always. If I like the SEDs it's time to move on to selecting preamp tubes. :)

As I stated in another one of your threads - through in a RCA 12AX7 in V1 and you'll be amazed! Let us know what you think of the SEDs when you get them installed...
