no, but i hear lots of good things about them, i think the more appropriate question is has anyone tried greenbacks, or vintage celestions in the mesa cabs, or with a mark series. The scumbacks are replicas of the pre-rola celestions, so the G12M, g12H style is what you would get, anyone know how they would sound compared to the V30's? I'm curious too.

nermel have you emailed the scumback guys? or asked anyone over at this forum? forum.metroamps.com (im overthere and many people priase the speakers since they are using them with vintage marshalls, or replicas)

I run my MK V head through a Diezel 2x12 Cab, loaded with V30 & G12H celestions....and it sounds hugely superior to the V30s alone or the C90s.

V30s and G12H30s are a magical combination with most Amps, especially with the V.

I tried the Mark V with the Recto 2x12 and did not dig the sound at all. It was either very bright and spikey or boomy on the low strings and bright/shrill on the highs.

The speakers take a bit to break in in the Recto cab...but it could be that you just don't like closed back cabs. (if your Diezel is closed back pardon me :-D)

My old Marshall JVM410C had a V30 and a G12H30...the speakers are a good combo..might have to try that.

Given the music I play, I tend to gravitate towards open back cabs. However, the Diezel is closed back (rear loaded)...and it sounds as good as an open back on the cleans and great lead & crunch....this is my fav speaker combination.

have you looked up Jame's Lugo's amp shootout from rigtalk? He has clips of a markV through scumbacks.

I swapped the original Celestion speaker for a Scumback 65 watter yesterday, and man, what an improvement in the sound. Don't have the harshness that I had, sounds much smoother. I don't use the 90 watt setting, so powerwise, it's fine for me. Try it out.....
