First of all, let me describe my current rig: I have a rackmount Mark III blue stripe head and a Studio Preamp filling up a six-space rack. I split my guitar signal into the inputs of the two amps, then take the output of each preamp (for the Mark III that's the effects send, of course) into an A/B box, the output of which goes into the effects return of the Mark III. The idea is to get on-the-fly switching between the Studio Pre, which I use for basic sounds, and the Mark III preamp, which gives me some additional variations, and have everything go through the simul-class power section.
So this has been working great. However, I've started to wonder what it would be like to have a Racktifier in place of the Mark III just to get some different sounds available. One thing I wonder is how the Studio Pre might sound into the effects return of the Racktifier: will the Recto power instead of the simul-class power make it sound wrong? Are there any issues with using the effects loop in this way I should know about?
With the economy being what it is, I've been seeing some fine deals on Racktifiers lately. I've heard (almost) nothing but good things about them. I have never owned any amp in the Rectifier lineage before.
