On the far left hand side of the Triaxis there's a button that says "Entr", touch it once and the red preset # next to it will start blinking touch Entr again and it stops blinking and whatever Tone numbers/modes/external switching and effect loop settings you have dialed in on that preset will be saved to that number preset.Easy
Remember the Mode button lets you switch between the 8 pre-amps available called "modes".
After you defeat the factory presets, You can just pick any preset # and change the mode "Preamp" and tones at will. Also touch the "Loop" switch configurations to activate the Deep, 1/2 drive and Bold on 2:90 as well as the Triaxis effects loop for every patch. The little led lights will go on and off as you cycle through them.Easy, once you got something you like hit that enter button twice and your locked and loaded. I use a rocktron all access midi controller which works great with the triaxis and my Tc electronics G force.
You need to get the manual and read it, then read it again and let it soak in, its written well and will get you up and running in a jiff.
I have some quick "foot notes" but they are incomplete but at least it explain the modes and some general settings
