But in case anyone else experiences the same or similar....
Even tech suppt can't figure it out. During Fri night gig it acted like it was shorting out briefly, then no sound. Had to replace a bad Rect tube on Sat and got sound back. 1st Song, 1st set, 1st note of the lead ride on Sat night... dead again. Did the same on Monday with Mesa on the line... no sound at 1st either front of amp or the Return, flipped Standby off and on and had sound... let sit for awhile, strummed a loud A chord... dead in the middle of the strum.
Mesa's been great so far, they issued a call pickup and should have it back in 2 weeks including ship time. It's time to buy a backup V!!!!
