I tried out a Roadster today at the store, and I noticed something strange about the presence on channels 3 and 4. Channel 3 seemed to have WAY more presence. To make it equal out, I had channel 3 at 11 o' clock and channel 4 was maxed all the way. Was this amp just a dud, or is that actually how it's supposed to be?

Oh and also... I found that channel 2 was a difficult one to dial in for a SRV or Lynyrd Skynyrd type sound. Any tips there?

Channel 4 should have more presence than Channel 3. Also, you should crank the treble and gain to 3 o'clock on the Brit mode on channel 2. If that's too much gain for you, turn down the gain instead...

Channel 2 is the channel for southern rock type stuff.. max the gain, set your eq to taste (slightly mid scooped is what I do) and presence at noon. Use the volume control on your guitar to control the amount of gain you require and bingo-bango bob's your uncle. Of course your mileage may vary depending on the guitar/pickup choice you have made. I.e. a bc rich warlock baritone with emg's might not quite make the grade.

bingo, per the manual 4 has more presence.

Channel 4 does have a more aggressive presence taper BUT if Channel 4 is in vintage mode I find that the presence has to be near cranked to sound anything like channel 3 vintage with normal presence settings. I have no idea why but it irritates me. I really wish that channels 3 & 4 could be the exact same so I could could just dial different levels of gain but channel 4 is so much more compressed.

Just popped my EL34s in my Roadster and with the gain around 3-4 it sounds awesome in BRIT! SOUNDS so much better than the 6L6s in that setting.
