I'm having a weird problem, where my amp will start cutting out. Every time is does this, the channel indicator lights on the amp head will flash, as though it's trying to switch channels for a split-second. I did some searching, and I saw the large amount of posts regarding the problem with the Russian preamp tubes, but none of them mentioned the light thing, so I was wondering if this problem had a different cause.

The issue only seems to come up when I have the channel select on the back switched to, "Footswitch," which makes me think it might just be an issue with the footswitch, or the cable for it. I've tried taking everything else out of the chain and plugging directly in to the amp, as well as replacing all the cables (except the one for the footswitch, don't have another one handy at the moment), batteries for other gear, etc, and it hasn't worked. Also, it's only been happening at the practice space my band uses, I haven't been able to duplicate it at home. Please, any help/advice/knowledge you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and in case it helps, this is what I'm currently using:

Mesa 100W Roadster head
Marshall 1984A 4x12 cab
Boss Tuning Pedal/Boss Noise Suppressor
Fender Tele with an EMG81 active pickup

Sounds like bad power - do you have the same problem there with other equipment? Also consider trying a different outlet at your practice space and at home to try to duplicate the problem. Also, if your amp is relatively new (2009+, maybe 2008), the preamp tubes shouldn't be a problem.

My bad, I should have mentioned, I did try changing outlets at the practice space several times, as well as using a surge protector, going straight into the wall outlet, and so on. Also, since you brought up power, I should mention that I'm using the amp in, "Bold," mode. There haven't been any similar problems with other gear at the space. And the amp is a 2009.

I had a similar issue with my Rectoverb. started with Volume loss when in CH2 and the CH2 light would act up. At the end before the tech took it it was making very LOUD pops when changing channels- never did this for the year I owned it.

The tech that has it said it may be a bad solder point on the board somewhere or a bad cap. Im still waiting to get it back and for him to tell me what the issue was.

I sure hope it wasnt my footswitch just needing some TLC.
