Hey guys,

I'll keep this brief, I'm needing a bit of advice on this amp. I'm mainly a bedroom player, jam with friends a bit, but for the sake of this argument i'm a bedroom player.

I have saved some money for a new amp and have looked at a few and have decided on a couple I like best, namely the mesa roadster. The problem is that I want to play mainly metal (though a range of other genres) and all decent metal amps are >50w and I'm not sure whether this will be way too loud for bedroom playing.

Anywho if you have any insight as to whether a roadster head + vertical 2x12 will be too loud or (hopefully) not feel free to let me know :D

Ta guys!
Toby.

They don't sound bad at low volumes but you WILL become addicted to cranking it, just saying.
If you want a good metal bedroom amp, perhaps you should invest in a Mark V since it has the 10watt power option. Just a thought.

I'm also a bedroom player and have a Roadster. If you really want the amp I'm sure you could make it work for your situation. Surely you'll have more wattage than you need for your current playing situation but if you playing situation ever changes you'll have plenty of wattage on tap. Were you looking to buy new? The reason I ask is most stores have a 30 day return policy if what you buy doesn't workout for you. As said the Mark V is another option but it won't sound anything close to a Roadster. The Mark V is a tighter voiced amp whereas the Roadster is looser voiced amp.
