I got the RK1... Eventide stompboxes looped into both loop 1 & 2 (killdry into Loop2 Parellel) and the other two DSP bypass into the loop 1 (series)

I use a budda wah to a Boss TU-2 then into a BBE boosta Grande clean boost... But I am having too much treble! My presence is at 12 and the treble knob at 11-10 positions for channels 3 and 4.

Am I missing a key component of eq'ing my tone? Is there something I am not getting? I got plenty of gain bass and mids but the treble will get me kicked out of most clubs! Im fighting a treble monster lol

EQ is a start but is there anything else? Maybe new pre amp tubes or something?

There are allot of variables, cabs, speakers, acoustics etc etc. I noticed whenever I used my 4x12 in a low ceiling rooms the treble was unbearable. I switced to a recto 2x12 and things chilled out a bit. Take ur amp outside or in your garage with the door open and tweak some more, Im sure you will find that the treble monster will go away.

When I owned the Road King I ran a Boss GE7 in the loop and dropped the 6.4k knob all the way to -15 (pegged as low as it goes), this was for getting the Recto fizz out.

Never had to much pure treble that I couldn't adjust out (fizz aside, which went away at drummer volumes).

I did notice it was far more treble in modern then vintage. But I could still tame the treble by bringing it down to 12:00

No way around the fizz unless you drop the treble, presence and especially the gain down a bit... There's a fine line though - if you drop the levels too much the fizz disappears but your amp sounds like it's underwater.

JaredFace is right, there are a lot of factors though.

One thing is speakers. Toss the V30's if you are using them and get some C90's. That will help. Also, try angling the cab away from you so you are at a 45 degree angle or play next to you cab.

Also, the louder you play, the less fizz. AND if you play with a band or other instruments the high frequency fizz will tend to get drowned out by the other instruments, especially vocals and drums (cymbals.)

I tried everything (tubes, EQ's, etc) and I personally could never get past the fizziness and had to take a $$$ loss when I sold my Roadster since I had bought it new. The Mark series and the DC series has no fizz... live and learn.

Well I have to report.... Speaker cable in the wrong I put jack of my 4x12 rect slant cab
I plugged it into the proper input and all is fine with the world at 4ohms... Thanks for the replies cause I learned a couple of things

I was once told there is no such thing as a stupid question!

the problem was the wrong input jack on the 4x12... The bottom left jack was used instead of the bottom right.... It sounds fine instead of a plodgy treblely sound .... I keep the output
Knob at 12' and the masters at whatever my tone is saying back to me

I was getting some really bad ice-picky trebble out of my Mark IV. I replaced the V30's in my recto 2x12 with g12t-100's and it was like someone pulled the blanket off my amp. Really balanced tone. Tight, low bass, punchy mids and controlled highs.
