(goto "tone test texas" third song)
rest of songs are also examples

this is a series 1 road king

forget the sloppy playing or retarted arrangment but the whole thing took me 10 mins to record and mix and burn...

the rhythym tone was just there for the sake of background. the lead tone i was working on. trying to get a "western doodle" texas ish type clean tone. very tangy. maybe like joe perry?? like a country type grimey feel.

thoughts?

cool, im assuming when you say texas tone, you mean a bluesy tone? you defintley got it, maybe just a bit cleaner and more in your face , maybe it's just the mix, but when you say texas, i bet your thinking SRV and blues players and you got to understand that their tone is more clean and it's more in their hands then anything, so if i WERE to make a suggestion, maybe be more in the mix, it's a nice dark tone , good job btw ! prog all the way! :D

i'm a metal guy so i'm not fluent in dialing in any tones that are not lead, rhythym, or clean...

the dirty blues tone i was working on for quite a bit.

the sound i had in my head was SRV but a little less smooth, a like creamy western doodle tune. kinda like joe perry on some albums especially on song "get a grip" the long solo at the end.

it was my road king channel 2 brit mode with a 50w el34 prog linkage. through my ibanez sz 4020 split coil between paf pro (neck) and virtual hot paf (bridge) with the neck volume slightly turned down to reduce bass...

i also had a boss ds-3 with very little push but just enough to get that sound...

it sounds a lot better "live" as my mixing wasnt the best
