Hey all,

Thought I'd try the Roadster's Brit mode with some EL34s, check it out!

50w, spongy, diodes
Master - 12:00
Presence - 11:30
Bass - 11:00
Mid - 1:00
Gain - 11:00

Here's me channelling Angus and Malcom.

The lead has a bit more gain, master and mids than the rhythm. Recorded through a 1x12 thiele-like cab with an SM57 (of course).

Cool, mid gain..

whats it sound like with a little bit more gain? like 1:00-3:00 range.

Nice The Cult reference BTW. Or I'm guessing you did that on purpose? :D

Very nice! :D

Always a pleasure listining to your clips Fredster...you should post more!

Which guitar were you using?

Wish I could get my roadster to behave like yours :?

GREAT TONES!!!!

I've been bragging on the brit mode for almost a year now.. That's one of my favorite modes, I just wish I could use it more in the band I'm in.

I've got a couple clips on my site at www.guitartest.moonfruit.com on the Road King page. The 2nd one down is one of my favorite lead tones I've ever gotten (huh, I need to finish that song). The "Live Montage" is a bunch of slop of me playing with my band and I've solo'd out my channel to give everyone an idea of how it sounds cranked up and live.

GREAT tone you have there, thanks for posting!

Thanks all, appreciate the input!

Mr_You - here's about as much usable gain as Brit mode has, I think. Same settings as before - mids, master and gain about 2:30. Use an LP with BB in the bridge. Don't know what you mean about The Cult reference so it must have been unintentional :)

Clippy

One thing - I'm pushing these tubes very hard - The effects loop is out - so with the master at 2:00-3:00 - that's up there. I'm using a Hot Plate attenuated waaaayyy down.

Scolli - that's a 79 "The SG" with the original Dirty Fingers pu's.

Tele - I've listened to all your clips - loved 'em! In fact, your clips convinced me to look at the Road King/Roadster in the first place. :)

I dunno, if I keep this up I'm gonna talk myself right into a Stiletto Ace...

Fredster, I realize its a basic rhythm, but thats pure rock at its heart.

Maybe you have heard Wildflower before and played it subconsciously? I was getting ready to hear you play leads for the vocals. Haha, either way. The Cult rocks check their stuff out sometime. I saw them live once. You rock, thanks.

Thanks for the link tele_jas. Wow looks like they have some new stuff out:

Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread! You reminded me of one of the good ones. :D

wow

I never use this channel
but I will now, I'm not really into AC/DC very much
but I'm a Cult fan from way back and your clip sound like the Billy but better!

I'm interested to know your recording setup
what you use and how.

great stuff

that sounded great!

I have the dual recto, and have been itching for a series loop...to many wants, not enough $$

man I love the way the stuff sounds....clean but dirty...the way good rock and roll should be!

That's too funny, actually I was playing ACDC's Rock & Roll sSinger - though The Cult song sounds just like it.

I think I may have been pushing the amp a bit too hard to get this sound - I've been blowing fuses latedly so I've backed it down. Still thinking about a an Ace though...
