Firstly, let me say hi, i'm new here. I've recently joined the mesa club and am very happy with my choice of amp. Looking forward to some good times with it. :D

Now onto my problem. I've had a good search for the various bits and bobs im looking into but i felt a topic would perhaps allow others to help me better here....

So i got myself a Road King head and a standard recto 4x12.

Now im looking to control my rig as easily as possible. For example i like to use subtle delays and chorus/other effects with my sounds aswell as soloing duties with my band.

Now with a fair few situations i've got to start dancing on the footswitch to get all the right buttons hit in time and its just a pain to be honest.

Now im looking to have some sort of midi system so basically i can have preset patches and banks that i can stomp on and change to which will house my sounds.

Now i've seen a lot of guys using a fcb1010 with their dual and triple recto's. Now those are 2-3 channel amps yet the road king is 4 channels. I've read that this floorboard will only change 2 channels but combined with a g major i will have the ability to change all 4 channels.

I've heard a few rk users mention the Axess CFX4 (nothing to detailed though), will it fit in with what i want to be able to do??

Basically im looking for clarification from anyone on here who can help me. What should i be looking for here?

I've been interested in an effects processor too and have seen many and heard many recommendations for the tc electronics G range, namely the G major or G force.

So regarding both ideas for a simple to control rig (ideally a 1 hit wonder for each sound floorboard wise) and a decent effects processor what should/would suit me here?

Any help here would be fantastic.

Thanks for you time. :)

I have a Road King combo and a 4x12 Standard Recto cab. I've been using a Ground Control Pro with the GCX unit, both made by Digital Music Corp. It controls ALL of my RK functions as well as my rackmount effects. It's very easy to setup, program, and use live. Plus, It's built like a tank. I've never had a single problem with it. It's great! It's a bit pricey ($399 each for the GC Pro and the GCX unit) but not nearly as expensive as a Bradshaw setup for example. I'd strongly suggest a look at the Ground Control Pro. They're used by the likes of Def Leppard, Brad Paisley, and the list goes on and on...

Thanks guys, i'll be having a look at all this stuff later on and hopefully be able to plan out what i should be looking to buy.

Thanks again.

Gaz :)
