As always, its not mine, but just sharing. Very very good tones here.

Enjoy.

I had blackouts with my roadster and I didn't like them near as much as I like my jb/jazz combo. As to the video that is a pretty sick ass tone!!!

sick tone. By the way, I have a pair of Blackouts I just took out of my new guitar. Unfortunately, I had to have splittable humbuckers for work or else I would have left them in...They are for sale. :)

Hey guys,

Decided to drop by and let you know that this guitar does NOT have Blackouts in it.

These are the stock Ibanez V7 and V8 (or was it Z7 and Z8)

Cheers!

That dude . . . and his guitar!

It's all about the Duncan Blackouts!!!

This video is turning me onto Blackouts. They sound friggin nasty (currently using 81/85).

First off... the guitars are double or triple tracked.

Second, there is a bass filling in the low end.

The video sounds good because it is well produced, so don't expect a set of pickups to give you that sound.

Almost got everything right. I always record just a left and a right guitar. Not doubled or tripled.
I let the bass do the rest. AND as I said earlier in the thread: THESE AREN'T BLACKOUTS.

The only blackout video I did was this one:

Undoubtedly correct! Many young players fail to realize the effect of multi-track recording and the additon of other instruments to compliment guitar tone. Guitar is a mid range instrument and though in this case it's lower mid range it's still just that. Additionally younger players need to realize that a persons technique is an essential part of their sound. I practiced Gilmour, Mclaughlin, DiMeola, Fripp, Masvidal, etc. for years and yet when I play their stuff it still sounds like me playing them. Gear is major important but so is finding 'your' sound that compliments 'your' playing...still a brutal tone this guy has.

True that, a bass is half of a guitarist's good tone!!

Out of curiosity, what are your settings? It isn't just good micing. This is also good tone and playing as well!!

Thanks man.
The settings are in the video. Just pause the vid in the beginning and you'll see the eq settings.
