hey guys, im trying to run a dbx project 1 compressor and a art equalizer through the effects loop. i was wondering what level to set the mix nob on the back. also, if the amp has 2 series effects loops, why is there a mix nob??

The knob on the back is only for the level of the audio going out of the send jack, it's not a mix control (like a parallel loop would have). Think of it as a "master preamp level" assuming you have the effects loop set to active.

I can't help specifically with the level for your comp and eq... but for my G-Major I started with the level at unity and ended up boosting just a tad to get a strong level on the G-major without clipping. If the dbx has an input meter this should be fairly simple. Most people suggest setting levels on a clean channel. Just remember the individual channel masters come before the effects loop level, so they are equally as important.
