Hey guys,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has had a problem with their mini amp gizmo. I plugged my amp interface cable in the other day at rehearsal and the amp started to make a buzzing sound like the relays were stuck. It seems to be ok on chan 2 but then when its switched to channels 1 or 3 it makes a buzzing noise.

I've been in touch with Ron at RJM and he thinks its a voltage issue from the power supply. We are still trying to sort it out. I've tried other interface cables but it still does the same thing no matter which cable I use. And I've plugged the mark v's foot switch in and all works fine. I'm thinking its the amp gizmo itself.

I just thought I'd ask and see if anyone has had this issue or something similar?

Many thanks

Paul

I have and use one with no issues. Did you "set it up" when you first plugged it in? There are a few steps you need to do before it is ready to use with the MV if I remember correctly.

Yep I did set it up. I've had it for a few years now and its just started to do this. Myself and Ron from RJM are a bit baffled by it. Ron thinks it might be something to with the voltage that the amp provides the switching circuit with. I've got a used MAG from eBay coming so I'm hoping its just that and mine has developed a fault.

We shall see.

The problem persist with other RJM mini amp?... its look like the MAG is trying to turn on the channel 1 and 3 at the same time. Try using the MAG alone and see if it can turn on the switches 1 and 3 simultanously.

I managed to sort it out. It was in fact a faulty mini amp gizmo sounds like the relays have gone inside. Ron from RJM said he would take a look free of charge.

Thanks
Paul

My Midi cable had some problems from the amp to the mini amp gizmo (The one provided by RJM) I sent it in and 2 days late got it back working perfectly. Did you check the foot switch selector on the back of the head too it might be on the wrong position.
