My TBR5 will be here in 2 days. 120w per side with EL34's can use any power tube with a simple rebias. Focus, presence, input gain select, pentode/triode switch. All you could ever need. Get it while it lasts. I called Rivera and they told me mine was one of the last they're letting go of for 1k. They're gonna bump the cost to $1800 and take it off the site. Serious piece of gear for a retarded price.

So I think mine may have come DOA. I drive all the f'n way downtown and spend 30 min racking it, setting up my cab, and blah blah blah. The first clue that I have a problem is the standby switch doesn't illuminate when activated. Well I figure I'll hook my pod into it and see if we get a signal. Nada, niente, nothing. I look through the logo and tubes are glowing (I opened the hood to make sure the tubes were intact prior to the trip). So I drive home with my friggin tail between my legs. I'm not 100% positive it's the amp yet. I bought $120 worth of speaker and instrument cable over the weekend so it's definitely not that. I haven't used my Sunn cab in almost 2 years so it could be the cab. I'm going back out to the space in the morning and hooking a head up to the cab 1st to eliminate that possibility. I'm really f'n pissed though. I've done 2 solid years of research b4 pulling the trigger on this thing and I'll be livid if I have to wait for another one. Part 2 tomorrow folks...

Or it could be that I'm a total tard. I called Paul Jr and I figured out that it has a second standby switch for each independant channel! I'll be running back yet again tonight. Hopefully 3rd time is the charm. The exciting conclusion tonight...
KABOOM! Loud as balls! I'll have to remember to e-mail Paul Jr in the morning to thank him again for putting up with me. Those guys are great really. How many companies do you know where you can call and talk to the #2 guy on the phone not once but thrice in 2 weeks? For real, if you have the means go get one. It's the last power amp you'll ever need.
