Resistor in series with 1960AX 4x12 cab

This cab is 16ohm and my Mark II-c+ doesn't have a 16ohm out. Only 8 and 4.

would this work;

Place an 16-ohm resistor in parallel with the cab for a total of 8-ohms?

The 8 ohm well work fine. No need for anything else.

The resistor will just consume power as heat. And heat don't sound too good on it's own :lol: :lol: :lol:

....seriously, just use the 8 ohm jack.

Technically yes you could do that but i think the mesa would be alright with the safe mismatch. maybe call mesa to be absolutely sure.

...or sell the marshall and get a nice mesa cab!
