Replacing cathode diodes in a MkIIB?

Hi,

I have a MkIIB which I am about to completely retube and recap. I pulled out the chassis to make a parts list and found that all the cathode bypass caps in the preamp section have been substituted with diodes. Looks original, not like a modification. Does anyone have any thoughts on replacing these diodes with caps as per the "official" schematic? There also looked to be a diode instead of (or possibly as well as?) the blocking cap after the power amp access jack, which seems a bit weird. I haven't come across this before and was interested to hear some information about it.

They are indeed caps and not diodes. Cathode caps very rarely ever need replacement in younger amps (less than 40 years old).
