Just got a RectOVerb 1x2 with a 1x12 ext cab! WOW! What a great amp. I actually brought it into the studio this week to finish up some of my guitar parts for my bands upcoming record and it sounded great with the tracks from my Roadster. I also ran the combo with my 4x12 this week messing around and that sounded great as well. Very pleased :D

It's a deceptively versatile amp, for the time I spent with it (a few hours), and nearly bought one. I instead bought the DC-5 (which I had wanted for years and years), but the RoV was very much a big contender. Is yours a Series II? Many folks say that KT77s sound pretty damn cool in one. That might serve as a neat contrast to your Roadster.

It is a very cool amp... I really didn't realize it at first until I started to mess with it. Makes a great companion on the recordings with the Roadster; which is really a plus.

Got around to taking a pic...

Hey, have you tried your ROV with and without the use of the extension cab? I was thinking about getting the matching extension cab for my combo too and was curious if it added a good difference in sound whether it be just adding extra sound from the additional speaker or maybe making the amp work a little harder to drive the extra cab?

It's a series two from what I can see in the photos. It has all three modes, Raw, Vintage and Modern. Should have EL34 and 6L6 switch on rear of amp. I've got Winged C EL34's in mine and it's sounds great.

Deceptively versatile, yes. Couldn't agree more. I love the Raw mode, extrememly versatile. The amount of bottom end this little baby recto produces is astonishing from a single 12" speaker. Place an EQ in the loop and adjust accordingly to clean up the mud a little . Plenty of posts about EQ's.

Congrats to the owner for buying a nice amp, too. Have fun. It's a thing of beauty.

To give you an idea about how good this amp is:

Yes, I have tried just the combo, combo + ext cab, and the combo with my 4x12 recto cab. Combo sounds great by itself and I think adding the additional cab only makes it louder in the sense of there is sound coming from two speakers depending where you place them. I thought the combo + 4x12 recto cab sounded amazing though. 4x12 has V30s and the combo and 1x12 have the Black Shadow speaker.

Also, series 2 with EL34s in it. I haven't gotten around to trying some 6L6s as of yet.
