I just picked one of these up and I was curious if anyone here uses one, if so do you use with a Mesa poweramp? Which one?

In general can someone recommend one?

I like mine. I use it coupled with a couple of other preamps and old 50/50's, and once I learned how to use it properly, really enjoy it. It gives some distinctly different sound options than my studio and while I won't say that it's as diverse, it definately offers my overall tone a great depth.

I have one...it's ok. It works the way it's supposed to. I mean, it's not my favorite amp as it's a Rectumfrier, but it works for crappy nu-metal or beefy wuss metal.

I have one myself with the 2:Fifty poweramp. I like it, sounds very good with a V30 cabinet. I'm looking forward to have a Roctron Patchmate 8 looper with Midi switching so I can have boosters/overdrives on and off with one push of a button. My bandmate has a Triaxis/2:90 and I have nothing to be shamed about. I actually like it better my own sound and with the looper, I can have same flexibility (almost)... With 2:50 I can crank little bit the power amp. I haven't tested Recto Pre with 2:90 or 2:100, so I cannot comment on that...

Plug the preamp into the effects loop return and make sure the loop is active.

Umm...I use my Rectifiers for R&B, Funk and Black Gospil/Jazz bro...professionally. I'm not sure what amp your talking about, but Recto's only being able to do Nu Metal is about as current/correct of a statement as "Mesa amps are just bad rip offs of an old Fender amp." :lol:

They do more. Honestly.

Oh, and the metal I do make with my Recto...is far from wuss. :)

++++1

I have one with a 2:100 power amp. The recto pre is really two channels from a road king. I have used it for everything from chimey cleans to great leads and heavy rhythm. This preamp gets a bad rap by repeating the same misinformation as rectos are just ripoffs of the SLO 100 which is just a ripoff of a hot rodded Marshall. By the way, I recently had the chance to play a SLO 100. It is a great amp and I can see how it might get connected to a recto, but it really is entirely different.
