You only need the power amp if you want to push a cab with it. If you're just going to run it into a recorder and listen through monitors you don't need it.

Here are a few, they are, however, recorded using the Recto Pre with a Recto 2:100 and two Recto STD 4x12's.....I miked them with a Shure 57 on each cab. I used 1 cab for the "Nasty" clip. All were using the EMU 1820M recording rig and Cubase SX 3.x except "Nasty", I think I used a Yamaha AW16G DAW.
