There's an argument going on on another forum and I'd like it if some of you could add some clarity to the issue...
The debate is that one member claims that Mesa changed the V30s they were using in 2003. He states that 2003 and prior Mesa used 70w V30s and that starting in 2004 they switched to 60w V30s, and that the 60w versions sound different than the previous 70w version.
The counter argument is that there are no differences, and that the 60w/70w rating is a marketing thing... probably to avoid the insinuation that Marshall's 70w V30s are somehow superior to Mesa's 60w V30s, and that in 2003/2004 Mesa said "**** it" and listed them as 60w on the website, even though it appears that they're still labeling the cabs as 140w/280w.
