The prices of used dual and triple rectifiers on eBay has ranged from approximately from $1100-$1300 in the last month or so that I've been watching them. I guess I just never did the math in my head, but earlier today it dawned on me all of a sudden that if these things cost about $1400-$1500 brand new 5-8 years ago and the owners are only selling them for a $200-$300 loss, then they basically got to 'rent' a dual/triple for about $25-$60 A YEAR. Isn't that amazing? Talk about holding their value.

Maybe the same is true for Mesa's other amp lines too, I don't know, but the numbers just really floored me.

Did you see the 3 channel Dual that sold for something like $737 with the footswitch and in great shape? I would have liked to been that bidder.

2 channel prices have stayed pretty steady too, maybe gone up a fuzz.

Now think about this!

I bought my first Recto, a 3 channel Dual, for about $1200. I think I sold it about 8 months later to buy my 2 channel Triple. I lost $0!

I also love knowing that if I wanted to sell my Triple and get all my money back, I'd have no problem doing that. To me, amps are perfect investments which is why I have the signature I do. It's like gold, only it looks better. And it's louder.

That's a perfect example, they really do hold their value. I've been leaning towards getting a Mesa, but then I heard about the Fractal Audio Axe-FX and have spent the last 3 weeks reading and learning about it. Sounds like a great product, but since it's computer-based I'm hesitant to go that route because of the advances that are always being made in processor speed, memory capacity, etc. In other words, I wouldn't want to get one (it's about $2000) and then 2 years later be disappointed because it didn't compare to their 'current' model and wasn't user-upgradeable to current specs.

I'm back on the Mesa train now, just have to figure out which one to get.

I bought my Triple Recto in 2007 for $1,100.00.

I sold my Triple Recto in 2009 for $1350.00.

I was paid approximately $10.42 per month for two years to have fun.
