I have a rect-o-verb 1x12 combo, sounds great but when changing gain modes (eg. from clean to pushed) the amp emits pop or click sound which can be quite loud if the amp is turned up.

Is this a normal thing for this amp to do?

Also, i use a boss fs-6 to switch channels, and there is a very minor delay between switching, is this also normal?

Thanks for any input on the matter.

I use the stock Mesa switch and never noticed any pops. Maybe its your switch. Only time I noticed a pop is sometime when turning the amp off.

I think the minor delay is normal. Nothing big, just to say you can tell there is one.

Not sure about the pop when changing modes. I assume that if the amp is turned up very loud, then yes. Now I'm curious. I've always switched when on standby. Best you turn the master down or flick the standby switch before switching. This may be a reason why Mesa didn't design the amp to change modes on the fly. It would've been great to go from clean to pushed via the footswitch.

There's always been a minor delay when changing channels from clean to drive. From what I've read, you can't do anything about this. I don't understand why; there's plenty of other makers amps that don't do this.

As for the delay, I use the mesa footswitch and I dont have that problem. You should try a different footswitch just in case.
