I had my footswitch stolen (along with the rest of my pedalboard) and need to build a footswitch to switch channels. The original footswitch was a three button model. channel, reverb, solo and the jack was a 5-pin 'midi' style jack.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing which pins do what? I found one years ago, but have had no luck since.

I know one is 'ground', one is channel, one is reverb, one is solo, but there is no way to find out which is which. Also, are there any other considerations I need to take into account? I have a basic one-button footswitch that I plan to re-wire with a 5-pin plug to handle channel switching (don't need a reverb or solo button).

Any help would be great!

Hello,
I am new to the Mesa community but i am totally hooked!
I have been looking for the footswitch pinout for my rocket 44 amp. I have been calling Mesa Boogie and with much suprise they have called me back and left messages but just to chat.
Sounds like i have the footswitch or answer you may want. I hope to talk to a tech tomorrow!

Well Im not sure which pin does what, but I can tell you the wiring inside the box is a bit funky.
I've been repairing mine since the cable close to the box had a short and it was actually switching the reverb & solo off and on by itself...lol

There's 6 cables coming off the pin connector. Red Black Brown Orange Yellow and a unshielded cable. The Yellow and unshielded are unused and cut at the end of the cables length.

From the pins (once again, not sure which ones yet. still trying to contact Mesa on this one.):

Rhythm (each switch has two connection points, for now call them Left & Right) :
Left: Grey connects to Reverb switch Right Connection
Right : Brown from amp cable, A separate cable runs to LED

Reverb :
Left: Black from amp cable
Right: Red from amp cable, White 1 to Rhythm LED, White 2 to Solo LED, plus grey from Rhythm left
(so a total of 4 connections being soldered into one little spot...its fun trying to cram these suckers!)

Solo:
Left: Orange from amp cable
Right: Cable to Solo LED

Thats the basic setup for the pedal, but I'll need to get the actual PIN corresponding to what cables.. I have the same issue you do. OYE.. if only they did the 1/4" outs on the series one Rectos.

If you get the info before I do, please email me at [email protected]. Later
