Well... I'm finally getting to the point to where I've got all the stuff I need to complete my rig. Now I need a small rack for the effect unit (g-major) and the other stuff (midi switcher, eq, compressor pedal, etc...).

I'm considering getting this to put it all in. basically I want to put my boogie on top of the rack and the rack on top of my (2x12) cab... so imagine the rack (below) stuff into the pic below it.

QUESTION:
does this one look tough enough to put the mark4 head on, on a regular basis, or should I consider a woodshop project and make "Mr. Tough 4-space"?

thanks... I'm also thinking I could just put a plank of wood (painted black) on top of it to distribute the weight.

or even this:

it's 1/2" wood so it would handle the weight easily and it's 3 spaces, so the whole thing would be less top heavy. no front/back covers, but I might not really need them too much :/

Yeah that could definitely work. One good benefit of the front and back covers, albeit a small one, is it keeps your gear cleaner if you put them on when you're finished (all depends on how often you practice/jam/gig whether or not you'll take the time to do that...it's all cost/benefit). Dust is a plague of mine. I love clean-looking gear but I hate to clean. I really think that rack case will handle the weight of your amp head with no problems, but to keep it from getting road worn quickly, you'll probably be better off to put something on top of it as you suggested. Not a bad idea to distribute the weight as well.

Good luck to you whichever course you choose to take.
