rackmounting your mesa head??

I've seen plenty of bands rackmounting their mesa head in with their rack gear. What rack do I need for this?

It depends on what head you are talking about.

The short head versions of Mark Series amps and the now-discontinued Dual Rectifier Rackmount are the only ones that are "rack-mountable" with their chassis. The Rectifier/Stilleto/Lone Star line's chassis are too wide to fit. But, you can get a head case that fits a standard head in a road case that has the rack spaces above it. Like this:
