I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this post so I apologize in advance.

I am looking into some sort of rack mount for my gear-to-be shortly. I will be investing in some sort of travel case for my mark V and am in need of a good, reliable case with wheels to travel to local shows. I want it to have the ability to house a couple single rack processing units such as a tuner rack, possibly wireless unit, etc.

I am looking for something similar to this but with only 1 amp slot, and possibly a couple rack spaces. I really want to have the hardware surrounded by padding like i've seen in many rigs (John P's). I feel that it will provide good amp protection traveling back and forth from shows.

Does anyone care to share any knowledge and/or pictures of their rig and personal experience so I can enjoy my first mobile rig? :?
I will do my best with answering any questions if something arises but I am very new to rack mounts and processing rigs.

Thanks again! :D

*bump* 100 views I was hoping to get a reply...

I was doing some looking for ATA Rack Head combo road cases and I came across this one, fairly inexpensive.

What I like about this case is that it is short so I can fit it almost anywhere!

Any thoughts on a more cheap/better case similar to this? I am going to be putting only a couple rackmounts in the case probably since my tone is very nice with the mark V alone. I will be using the bottom of the rackmount area for the pedals that are always active and keep pedals like my phaser down on the floor.

Any input would be great. :D
Thanks,

Steve

The case in that link looks a little flimsy... I don't see any aluminum channel around the perimiter of the case when the covers are removed. Also, all the hardware is surface mount (great for snagging on things and ripping/breaking what it snagged on or the hardware itself.) Recessed hardware is much more "Travel Friendly".

Compare to my roadcase (it's not my MKV but you'll get the idea):

There is a full perimiter of aluminum channel and also aluminum channel on the rack mount sides and shelf. All hardware is recessed. I believe I bought mine from "The Case Guys" on eBay.

Call them up they can usually cut a better deal then Ebay. Im 100% satisfied with my live in head case. Perfect fit and top end hardware. Ill post pictures of the setup sometime this week.
I have an SKB roto case to hold the Furman some pedals and the mini amp gizmo. It was allot easier to have separate cases then everything in one.
They told me on the phone that they can custom make any case/rack combo you want hand made to spec.
