hey guys
How to you hook up your rack tuner?
I already have a lexicon mpx200 running through the loop. Should i patch the tuner in with the lexicon?
thanks for your help!

tuner should always be the first in the signal chain, before any effects or amps

Rack tuners will suck your tone. You don't have to put tuners inline with the guitar. You could go off an effects send or slave out to the tuner.

Personally, I prefer to mute the output when I tune as to not disturb the audience but that's just me. You might want to also look into the Peterson strobostomp 2 for your tuning needs. They are true bypass so they won't suck your tone when bypassed.

hey thanks a lot disassembled.
yeah i just worried that I will lose tone.
i am already using my loop send to hook up the mpx200. so I am patching the tuner after the mpx200 and back into the effects loop...

I run my tunner from the record out on my Triaxis. That way it gets fed with a dead end signal.

<slaps forehead> that's a pretty good idea, I can't believe I didn't think of that. :?

I'm gonna go home tonight and see if that works on my rec pre. allegedly it can be a little bitchy about running live and record outs at the same time but I've never tried before. Thanks, man!

actually, okay, I'll pass on a tip here, I just saw a band (Zozobra) doing something that also made me kick myself for not thinking of it before. what do you do if you have to seriously retune your axe during a set? both guitarists have delays with a loop function, so they'd just bang off a cool 2-bar loop and set it to repeat, then bypass and tune while the drummer jammed along with the loop. Nice. :D

you guys use the Slave out to hook up a tuner? never thought of that, but thats sweet if it works!!
:D

you can use whatever you want that provides a good signal of your guitar. I would use ANYTHING but a direct connection between my guitar or my amp unless the tuner was true bypass like the peterson.

You could even get a direct box that goes between your speaker and take the line out from there to send to a tuner.
