So I am looking at building a rack system with a MIDI controller and after reading here, there and everywhere, thought I would ask here.

I have two questions, one I know more about, one less.

I am looking at getting the RJM Mini Amp Gizmo to allow my M5 to be incorporated into a Voodoo Labs GCX and ground Control. Has anyone use this combo, or have other suggestions which may be comparable?

I am debating buying a rack which I can have my head mounted in as well. I realize that I can't specifically rack mount like with the M4 so I am wondering if anyone has had experience with Mesa heads in this configuration. My concerns would be heat, stability and general wear and tear/survivability of the head, and its potential impact of being in such close proximity to other other components (dirty signals etc). Can anyone recommend a company that builds rack cases like this? I will likely have to get one custom made so I am looking around at all options.

hey friend. i've been on the same path to rack rig integration. here's what i was thinking: just get a separate live-in case for the mark v. it's not going to come out in a rackable format in a convenient timeframe, if ever. how bout something like this:

get a separate rack road case. i think people have suggested the rack/amp head combo cases, like
http://www.rockhardcases.com/index.php?page=amp-head-rack-combo
but the concern is always the large-ness of lugging it around. you can put all the stuff in there, but who knows if you're always going to have the ability to either lift it or truck around. but that's just me cause i'm not a truck/suv sort of guy.

been looking into the controller/switcher and was kind of looking forward to the eventual release of the axess electronics rx-2 (non-existent), but alas, the company is defunct. i like the thought of having the rjm effect gizmo w/ all stereo loops. have you looked into the rg-16 also, rather than the gcx? almost as many loops as the gcx and the integration amp function controls too.

anyway, those are my thoughts. idk they are anything close to what you were thinking of.

Yeah I was looking heavily into the Axess stuff and was really let down when they closed up shop.

As for the case, I am thinking of going with the amp + rack systems, but as of now, am not committed either way.
