Retubed to eurotubes high gain package. No r1. r2 and lead still work just fine. All the tubes seem to be working all glowing not in a bad way. I tap on them nothing bad happens. they are all seated correctly. This is the second time I have retubed my mkiv and the first time it worked great.
R1 is gone?

Also the I still can get sounds through r1 if I put a high gain pedal into the fx loop I can hear it on r1 so it must be in the preamp stage. it's not the footswitch either still have the problem when I select on the back r1
no the gain and channel master where both up. its odd that r2 and lead worked though. I reseated all the tubes and they where fine. So then I put the old ones in one at a time and v2 was DOA. I guess I thought it still was good since the filaments where glowing but maybe that was just a heater? never seen a preamp tube just dead like that though and Im supprised it had no effect on r2 and lead since v2 also is a gainstage for r2. so the problems fixed now I just have to talk to eurotubes if it's even worth it for a 10$ preamp tube.

i have on two different occasions bought preamp sets from eurotubes that have come with a dead tube. i've heard that they're cool about replacing them and bob is a nice and honest guy, but i didn't bother with the hassle either time and just put in an old tube for a stop gap measure, but after all that i think i'm done buying their tubes.
