Quick VST question!

Hi everyone!
I have a little question, I hope somebody can help me out!

I wanna record something in cubase, using a particular VST plugin... My question is:
Can I record 2 different channels with 2 different patches (and of course playback them) using only ONE instance of the plugin open??? Any easy way to do that without losing all the midi editing (=no export to .wav)???

I can't think of a way to do it right off since you have to assign the midi track to a midi bus (or channel).

Assign both tracks to a group then put your vst effect on the group insert.
