I think I'm going to be selling my quad. I love it, but I don't get to use it enough because I'm away at school, and I could use the cash for other things. It's in good condition. It's one of the few quads with built-in MIDI support, but when I bought it, the MIDI wasn't working. So it's basically the same as a non-MIDI quad. I control it via the switching jacks, just as you would any other Quad.

Mike B. says the Quad circuit is very close to the IIC+ (not the IIC as you may see some places), and that it will sound most like the IIC+ paired with a poweramp like the 50/50 or running into a Mark IV power section. He also suggested that for a purist, the tone would be even more similar if you use the effects send output rather than the normal output.

The filter caps have been replaced, which, as I showed in an A/B test in the Rack Pieces forum, made it even less noisy. It sounds awesome and is all intact. I can ship it with a ATA rack case if you'd like. I'll be able to put up pictures this weekend.

I'm also selling the 50/50. I got the tubes pretty recently from Eurotubes. They're JJ 6L6es and don't have much wear because I haven't gotten to play this rig very much recently.

I'm looking for $700 + shipping for the Quad from 06878, or best offer.
For the 50/50, I'm asking $450 + shipping or best offer.

Does it have two reverb pans? I've never seen a MIDI Quad in person, but there was one on eBay recently and it looks like they got the space for the MIDI board by deleting the short reverb pan.

Mine is the standard, no MIDI, dual reverb pans. Still for sale (not to Bogart this thread).

Also, reverb tanks are pretty cheap. If it's really a dealbreaker for a potential buyer, I'll gladly purchase the replacement tank and install it; it's not too hard. Frankly I've never found myself wishing that I had a shorter reverb tank for the Channel 2. Personally I think it's cooler to own something which had such a limited production run at Mesa Boogie.

I agree completely.

FWIW, the bit about the two channels using different pans is bogus. Apparently whoever wrote the manual didn't talk to whoever actually built the thing...the two pans are in parallel, and they're both active on both channels.

Bump for pictures of the 50/50 and Quad.
