I turn it on, there is a hummmmmmmm, when in standby... odd...I take it off standby and there is lightning in one of the rectifier tubes, then no power. Blown fuse.

I think, perhaps its the rectifier tube. So i switch off tube mode and to the silicone diodes, try again, this time, no lightning in the rec tubes, but still an on, a buzzzzzz, then a shut down...but no lightning from anywhere this time.

What the matter?

Pull your rec tubes, put it on diodes, and see if the problem persists. If it does, you have a bad power tube. If it holds power, you have a bad rec tube.

Thanks for the helps dudes!

So you guys are saying that EVEN THOUGH i set it to Diode mode, the fact that the rec tubes are still in there is causing the problem? And taking them out will fix it until i get new Rec tubes?

Yes sir. unless there is an underlying problem elsewhere. But lightning in a tube is a sure sign it's toast.

UPDATE:

Took out the rec tubes, turned on, lightening storm in ONE of the power tubes. So I'm guessing its THAT power tube yes? There wouldn't be lightning if there was a different problem right?

Yup bad power tube. Better get some new ones and hope that the bad tube didn't take the grid resistor out with it.

It depends on what you are talking about as "lightning". Did it blow the fuse? Some tubes glow blue when you take them off standby. It's hard to say if that's what you're seeing, without actually seeing it in person. If you're talking about a brilliant sudden flash, then yes, it's bad and you should probably replace all the power tubes.
