Preamp Tubes?

What kind of preamp tubes do you guys recommend for the triple rectifier? I use Groove Tube 6l6s power tubes if that helps.

Are you not happy with the stock Mesa tubes? I myself made the conversion to NOS tubes and while frustrating and a little expensive by comparison, they sound great in my Roadster.

I really like JJ's and Electro-Harmonix tubes. Good break up and lots of gain but stay pretty tight and defined.

I like the JJs. I haven't tried the EHs, but I've heard a Recto that had them and it sounded great.

I like a mix. I use a mix of NOS and new production tubes in my DR.

I love the sound of the EH's, but I've had terrible luck with their durability. (especially in combos)
