Aquired (1) NOS 1967 Tungsram ECC83, and (4) NOS 1960's RFT ECC83's.

Would the Tungsram be more musical in V1 than the RFT?

Thanks.

Tubes that will be in my C+:

Quad of SED Winged C's, (1) Tungsram ECC83, and (4) RFT ECC83's.

The C+'s I previously had, were pretty much always loaded w/ new Mesa tubes.

I can't wait to get my amp back from Mesa!!!

Did you send amp to Mesa with mesa tubes?

Question, how many 300v 220uf capacitors does your power supply have? 2 or 4?

Yeah, I sent w/ regular Mesa tubes. I did not want the higher dollars ones to be damaged in transit on the way back. Should I send them anyway?

It looks like there is (2). I had another original 60/100 and an upgraded 60/100 C+, that looked as if it had (2) as well, except they were the original longer Mallory branded ones.

I also had an upgraded 60/100 C+, that plain as day had (4) of them.

Would/should it vary for any specific reason? They were all 60/100 C+'s.

Im asking because Rich told me to ship mine with Mesa tubes. Even tough i use Philips 7581's in it. Im shipping my upgraded HRG this week too.

As far as the caps go, my HRG has 2 220uf/300v as well. It was strange to me as my DRG has 4. Boogiebabies told me that there should be 4. Dont know, but i know for sure mine came from factory with 2 of those caps.. Didnt ask Mike about it tough..

I just referred back to some gut shot pics I had.

The upgraded DRG I had, had (2) as well.

The C+, I have had that had (4) was an upgraded HRG.

Not really. There are DRGs with 2 and HRGs with 4.

Ok, I give. There are four 220uf capacitors on both the Simul and 60/100 amps. Two are on top of the power supply board and two are hidden underneath the board. The Coliseums have a total of eight, with four on top and four underneath the board. I have never had a 60 watt opened up, so I cannot speak for those. 8)

Also, just to refer back to the Original 60/100 HRG C+ I currently own:

# 133XX: It is at Mesa right now getting a full cap change, socket change, and maintenance. Is it likely there are 2 underneath as well????

I sure hope so. If not, it is in the hands of the master. I would still send him your SED =C= tubes to test on the bench, if I were you. I had one of mine shipped back with Sylvanias. He will remove them from the sockets and pack them in bubblewrap for shipment. The other option would be to have them shipped in their own box. I'm just trying to give some good advice to keep you from going through the same HELL that I did with one of my amps. 8)

Yeah, I am gonna go ahead and send them in. I will call Mike B. and ask him to use the SED Winged C's, Tungsram, and RFT's, instead of the Mesa tubes. Having the Mesa tubes there will be good though, in case any of these tubes are not up to par. They are all NOS & NIB, but since I do not have a tube tester this works out for my benefit.

Thanks for the recommendation.
