Hey I just picked up a pair of interesting Mesa/Boogie 1x12 cabs on Craigslist yesterday.
They are a pair of 80's vintage Compact 1x12 half-backs extension cabs (18 1/2" w and chrome corners a'la Mark II or III) with what appear to be factory made backs that cover the top half of the cab. So it's essentially a closed back cab with a two-piece back. The tolex and birch plywood on the two halves look exactly the same, so I'm guessing this was a special order from Mesa.
To make it even more strange, they are both loaded with C-90's instead of EVMs. My guess is that someone swapped the speakers but who knows?
Has anyone has seen these before? Did Mesa every sell these?
