Pre Amp Tubes for a Mark IIC+

Any particular 12AX7 anyone recommends for a IIC+? Right now I have stock Mesa tubes in the head but I want something that would suit an amp used for metal. The tubes in the head now are ok but seem to lack luster and balls, so many choices...
