Hey, my rig consists of a Mesa Studio Pre and the 395 Simul-Stereo Poweramp, sadly I've never experienced a real IIc+, but to my ears this combo just sounds freaking amazing!
I gues it depends on what 2C+ you're after. 60W were Class A/B, so probably a 50/50. If you wanted Simul, then probably the 2:90 will get you close. If you wanted the sound of a 60/100, maybe a 2:95 (not sure how this one operates).
The C+ Simul inner sockets are wired pentode while the outer "Class A" sockets are wired triode. All 60/100s are wired pentode in all sockets (straight A/B amps).
Simuls remained this way until the Mark III Green Stripe that had the outer sockets wired pentode. The Mark IV and V give you the option of running pentode or triode in the outer sockets.
Thanks for the info, looks like 2:90 or 2 95 if I want to get the closest. I think I am just going to get a 20/20 though and keep it light and lower power.
the Simul-295 (not 2:95 because it doenst exist) or the 395 is what you are after. Or, you could look for a Simul-Satellite combo amp and us its power section.... thats what I got and it sounds killer with my Quad. You can rackmont them as well, and with a bit of switching you can have the pristine clean from the Satellite whenever you want it.
