I'm looking to upgrade from my Furman PLII. The two units I have in mind are the Furman Power Factor Pro (rack) and the Furman AR1215 Rack Mount Voltage Regulator.

What's more valuable for my Roadster? Consistent Voltage or ample Current?

I going with the voltage regulation idea. My amp has a 4-amp fuse, why should I need reserve current above maybe 5-amps?

What your opinion?

I use both those units in my Mark IV W/D/W rig. I started with the PF PRO (floor version) which really cleaned up my signal and added low end thump and clarity, but the LED voltage readout on it made me realize how wildly inconsistent the voltage was, even in my own house. So I added the AR-1215. Now I have plenty of solid, clean current, and a dead steady 120V. One of the best features is that the line noise level has dropped dramatically because both units have noise filters in them. No more electric motors, radio stations, ect.

Thanks t0aj15 for the reply. Which do you think had the biggest impact on consistency, tone and response wise, from your rig?

I'm wondering if I put this in the right forum? Only one vote so far (and it's mine LOL)

If I had to choose only one I'd go with the PF Pro, but do yourself a favor and get them both eventually, even if you can only afford one of them right now. It makes little sense to me to spend money on a really nice rig and then feed it crappy power. These two units will clean up the power significantly, allowing your amp to perform at it's peak at all times. So many times I hear people on this forum talking about lousy bass or 'flub', 'farting out', etc. I have none of this in my Mark IV because the amp has plenty of good clean power.

Sounds like great advice. I may go with the PF Pro for now, and maybe later the AR1215. Too bad they did not offer a combined unit. It would probably take up 2 rack spaces anyway.

I'll do some more shopping around as well.
