it was beyond awesome.

I've had my eye on a Mark III and now playing the IV of course makes me want a IV hahaha.

Anyway, I was wondering if playing a IV could even be compared to playing a Mark III? I can't find a III in my area otherwise I would go play it immediately...so this is the one and only experience with a Mark I've ever had.

sorry for rambling!

There will be a very nice "blue stripe" Mark III 150 watt Coliseum head for sale in North Alabama very soon, so I'm told. 8)

you know how the old saying goes. "it's easier to ask forgivness than ask permission"

ps. I love your sig lol

so, no one has really commented on the most important question I was trying to ask. Is playing a Mark IV in anyway comparable to playing a Mark III?

Thanks Fellers!

There will be more of a compromise situation with the Mark III if you are after a squeaky clean channel 1 and heavy crunch channel 2. The lead channel on the Mark III is also dependent on the Volume 1 setting, to some extent. If you are into a raw, urgent sounding lead channel, the Mark III is where it's at. The Mark IV lead channel is a bit more polished and refined (smooth) sounding. Just my observations, though.

Ive owned a III and a IV. I was never really able to dial in the III. The amp was just too harsh sounding. Icepick. If you can swing the money for a IV do it.

That it is! And I've been wanting a Coli FOREVER so this would be waaaay beyond sick to get. Yes, that quote made me laugh for a good 5 minutes straight at least lol, thanks for the material!

Speaking of that Coli, not sure if its officially on the market, but if and when it is major dibs from yours truly :D! I'd have to sell my red stripe but that's a sacrifice I'd be so much more than willing to make lol.

My apologies for the thread hijack but the thought of Coli's just gets me all riled up to say the least!
