Hey, everyone! 8)

I've been digging into some Planet X again lately which features:
Derek Sherinian – keyboard
Tony MacAlpine – guitar
Virgil Donati – drums

..and various other musicians as guests. Check it out if you like jazz/fusion/metal. Some serious tones going on all over the place.

All their albums are quite amazing:
2000: Universe
2002: Live from Oz (live album)
2002: MoonBabies
2007: Quantum

Check it out..'Tube it..let me know whatcha think.

All the Best,
~Nep~

Love this type of music! I want to learn to play this style.

Here's a little story for ya....

About 15 years ago, a mate bought a tape (yep, a tape!) in to work and I heard some of the most incredible music. Never heard anythign like it before. Many years later..... fast forward to this day.

I posted on a local site (Melbourne, Australia) if anyone knew of a teacher to teach me to play rock fusion type stuff, as I was getting bored and stuck in a rut with my playing. I also asked if anyone knew of a band that was out many years back that played rock fusion, as I couldn't remember the bands name.

Lo and behold........ I got a guitar teacher's name and would you believe he played in the rock fusion band I heard back then and lives 15min from my home?!?! I couldn't believe my luck! (Haven't started lessons yet, but am hanging!)

Anyway, that's my little story and I thought I'd share because good things come to those that wait........ even 15 years later!

The band? Loose Change. Guitarist, Mark Domoney. Drummer, Virgil Donati.

Here's a link to Virgil Donati's site, that shows the Loose Change CD available (remastered).

This album was recorded live direct to two track (!) in the mid (or so) 80's and released on vinyl. Bloody amazing playing and incredible recording.

If you type in Loose Change Live at the Grainstore you'll find a few links and the CD can be bought off ebay (I'm not affiliated with anyone). Don't know if there are any tracks you can hear on the net.

Tony MacAlpine has always been a huge innovator and played with alot of people, Vinnie Moore being one of 'em. I think he used to play BCR-ST 3's back in the day.
