phat mode for triaxis

What does the Phat mode allow you to do? if you have a 2.0 without the phat mode, will it still enable the user to use the triaxis through a pedal board? i did a search and i couldent find anything. Thanks in advance

Yes. All versions of the 2.0 have midi support (including pre-phatmod), whereas the prior versions do not.
