If you head over to facebook, and become a fan of the Mesa Boogie page, they posted John Petrucci's settings on his Mark 5 that he uses on the C+ mode. He based it off the Metallica MOP recordings.

Has anyone actually dialed this in yet? From the looks of it, it looks like it may be a tad to much on the trebley side for me.

the funny thing is that everytime I try some of these petrucci settings with that 750Hz that low, I kinad get lost in the band mix.. why is that? no matter if i use the mk4 or mk2 or extreme mode, i just end up with a ****** scooped sound that does not get through :)

I wonder if he uses an OD in front of that or not.

K-Roll, in a band mix, there are other factors, such as the tone settings of other band members and which frequency spectrum they occupy. Every band is different, every room is different. You might need to make some adjustments to balance things out. Hopefully without departing too far from the originally intended tonal shape.
