However, if I'm recording and there's some tight percussive rhythms needed I'll switch into Pentode and/or Full Power mode. -kevin

The pentode feels tighter and cuts more. I like the the pentode better. I am using SED 6L6's and full power. My preamp tubes are tungsols.
