No...not Mark III

it's just their name for it I guess.

Anyway, has anyone got a chance to try it out yet?

I downloaded the demo version of it this morning and tried it out.

The Peavey models sound pretty good except for the XXX model. The Mesa model sounded terrible but I really haven't played on any model of a mesa that sounds good. The marshall sounds were okay. The vox and fender models were nice. The effects were okay.

It seems like this software concentrates more on capturing the amp sound. There are tons of cabinet models and mic models and positioning options.

Once again with all software modelers I feel like there is a big problem with pick attack and when you actually hear the notes. I'm not talking latency problems with USB or processor speed either. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the attack isn't that fast on most modelers.

Anyway, try it out if you get a chance. It's fun to play with and I think it's a step in the right direction when it comes to modeling but it still has a long way to go

OOOOHH no its not you. The picking dynamics are just not there with modelers or at least not at this point and time. From what I have heard the Peavey software is a step in the right direction. I had hopes with the POD X3 but that was a big letdown. Seems to me to get a good sound out of one of these things the patch has to have a fair amount of effects on it or if you go dry you have to at least double the track.
