been playing solid for almost 6 years now and have good calluses built up. I still find that my fingers get sticky and hard to slide around after about 30 minutes of hard jamming. Any ideas on how to remedy this.

Yeah, superglue...

I had some small wounds on my index finger and i put a small layer of superglue on it and i could play for another 30 min... Thoug hit has to be super good glue so that it sticks and is very smooth... Most of all glues are too weak and they go of after 5 min playing... I don't think it's so healthy though, and if your fingers are too wet the glue goes of too fast.

It could also be the strings and not the fingers, try to wash your hands without soap (otherswise your fingertops get wet and weak, dunno how to explane in english) Then take an old t-shirt or something, clean your stringers very well, make sure your fingers are dry too, and try again.

I don't need either of these anymore cuz I got enough calluses now :) Even after 3 hours of playing, only if i have wounds on my fingers cuz of working I must use superglue, or i don't and i just play in pain :)

oh yeah, this is on your own risk... if it fails or you glue your fingers together you may not blame me... be carefull with it, but if you play long enough the glue will come of smooth and your fingers are back like they were before :)

Most music stores carry products like finger-ease etc. These are very light lubricants that you spray or wipe on the strings and fretboard. If you clean your strings on a regular basis this actually prolongs string life too by keeping corrosion away. Just make sure you dont mistake your string lube with the astroglide.

+1 When my fingers get sore (11's on my strat) I glide (not atroglide  ) on some fast fret and all is well.

I played an outdoor gig last month and it was so humid my hands felt like glue. So after the sound check I drove a few blocks to a grocery store and bought a bottle of baby powder...remembering seeing Jeff Beck throw powder all over himself- hands, guitar, armpits, etc - at the Dallas Crossroads Festival. I used powder on my hands and the back of the guitar necks that night we played and it made a huge difference. Now I keep it in my gig bag.

I played at a very hot and humid BBQ last summer. I asked the host for powder. All he had was foot powder. It worked wonderfully.

Thanks for reminding me to bring some this year!
