Whats with orange cabs are they good, I keep seeing them being used with other heads such as boogie heads live. Why are they so popular?

They are very good cabs. Very similar in build quality and voicing to the rectifier series cabinets. As of around next month, they are beginning to build them with Chinese made V30's rather than British built ones. This means that if you could snap one up now in new or decent second hand condition, i think it would be a good investment as they are only going to increase in price and people are going to be hunting them down.

I have one.

The Orange cab and the Recto Traditional/Stiletto cab are very close in terms of dimensions. However I don't know how they compare in terms of tone as I've never used a Recto Trad. I do feel that the cabs Mesa makes are a little higher in terms of quality (better quality tolex and handles, metal jackplate vs plastic, and the removable wheels are primo).

I originally switched to Orange as I felt they were faster and punchier than the oversized Recto cab I was using at the time. I didn't try the Recto Traditional cabs as I thought they were meant to be more like a Marshall cab. It wasn't until recently that I learned they where sized more like an Orange.

For what it's worth.
